What we offer
PwnTech offer a one-year return-to-base warranty on all complete systems. In the case of a problem, simply return the entire system to us and we will repair or replace any faulty components. In addition, some manufacturers may include longer warranties on their individual components; after the one-year period has expired, we will contact the manufacturer on your behalf and assist you in getting repairs or replacements for any faulty components throughout the duration of the manufacturer's warranty.
Terms and Conditions
"Return to base" means the customer is responsible for returning the faulty item, either component or entire PC, to
our business address. If the component or PC is found to be faulty, we will then repair or replace any components
we deem necessary, and return the component or system to the customer as soon as possible. We always use 24-hour
courier, insured to the full value of the system. We recommend that you return the component or system using a
recorded delivery method, insured for the full value of the component or system. We are not responsible for any
loss or damage in transit incurred by your courier. Proof of postage is not proof of delivery.
We reserve the right to replace "like for like" if a specific component is no longer available. If a repair is
not viable and a replacement is necessary, whenever possible we will endeavour to replace a component with the
same model from the same manufacturer. However, certain components such as graphics cards are produced by
many different manufacturers to a specific design; in this case we reserve the right to replace one manufacturer's
model with the same model from a different manufacturer, assuming the performance and specifications are identical.
For example, we may replace a BFG graphics card with a Leadtek or vice versa, as long as they are both the same model
with the same clock speeds, memory and interfaces. In the case of components such as processors, we reserve the right
to replace a no-longer-available component with a later version or higher model; for instance we may replace an Intel
E2180 CPU with an E2200. We will never replace a component with one that reduces performance or functionality of the
system in any way.
If the returned component or complete system is found to not be faulty, we reserve the right to charge
the cost of return postage and packaging, and a £15.00 administrative fee. For this reason we recommend that
you return the entire system rather than just one component you suspect to be faulty, so we can also check for
compatibility problems between components on the system; if we have the entire system, we will be more likely to be
able to reproduce whatever problem you are experiencing.
"One year" means the period between the date of purchase and the same day of the same month in the following year;
it does not refer to either 365 or 366 days and does not change with leap years; therefore some years the warranty
may be one day longer than others. This is for our simplicity of administration. Since there is a delay between
the customer placing the order and receiving the item, we count date of purchase to be the day when we ship the
finished system. For instance, if we ship your system on the 13th of April, your warranty with us expires
at the end of that date the following year, regardless of whether it is a leap year. After our one-year period,
individual component manufacturers may have different definitions of the time units used in their specific warranties,
and we are not responsible for correctly representing their warranty period. The specific days countdown
displayed in the support section should be used only as a guide, and is not guaranteed to be accurate.
We are not responsible for individual manufacturers' warranties after our one-year period has expired. We will
undertake every effort to assist you in obtaining a repair or replacement from the manufacturer of a faulty
component; however we are not responsible if a manufacturer refuses or is unable to honour their warranty for
any reason. Individual manufacturers may also have their own terms and conditions separate from this document.
We offer a one-year warranty against manufacturing faults and defects or damage caused during the assembly process.
We are not responsible for damage caused in transit, although we will help you to claim recompense from the courier
used if this is the case. We are not responsible for damage caused by any unintended use of the system, nor any
reasonable wear and tear caused by normal use. We reserve the right to void the warranty if we find any evidence
of overclocking or any unapproved modifications by the customer that may cause damage to the system.
